2017 Chattahoochee Invitational Results (points - 1sts/2nds/3rds)

1. Dodgen - A (91 - 8/3/4)
2. Bearden - Blue (139 - 2/3/4)
3. Fulton Science Academy - A (195 - 3/4/2)
4. Vickery Creek - A (199 - 1/4/4)
5. Our Lady of the Valley - 1 (214 - 1/2/0)
6. Vickery Creek - B (251 - 0/0/3)
7. Fulton Science Academy - Red (271 - 0/2/1)
8. Auburn - A (272 - 2/1/0)
9. Dodgen - B (272 - 0/1/2)
10. Auburn - B (351 - 4/0/0)

Full Results

Random Thoughts:
  • Accounting for no-shows, Dodgen and FSA appear to still be the top teams in Georgia (though Vickery Creek may be slightly closer than last year).
  • Bearden's second and third teams placed 16th and 18th, fitting their usual trend of doing better at invitationals than at nationals.
  • Vickery Creek; still not many golds, but their events tend to be pretty consistent.
  • OLV did better than usual this year; they may even manage to take second at state.
  • Auburn, same as usual, with split teams and no shows in builds.
  • South Forsyth did pretty well; they might make it to top ten in the state this year.
  • McCleskey and Autrey Mill (both new teams) did well, and may make it to state this year (though their regional is a bit unpredictable, with several teams at a similar level).
  • River Trail and Trickum are both looking weaker than in previous years (I wonder how much of that has to do with this tournament's two score counselors going to high school...)
  • Crews is looking similar to previous years; possibly slightly weaker.
  • Not sure what happened with Lakeside; they might have split around 20 people across their three teams.
Anyone else?

Division B State Schedule is posted on the website. It is nearly identical to the Dodgen Schedule which is not surprising given the Dodgen/Cobb/Lockheed Martin connections. http://www.gascioly.org/uploads/5/7/6/1 ... ebsite.pdf

The early posting of the state schedule is a very welcome throwback to the bygone era of the wonderful Bill Wellnitz.

I am truly happy to see the awesomeness of that schedule. The Div C schedule is pretty good, but this one is really nice.

Is the Division C state schedule for this year already posted somewhere?

So we just lost 9 (and counting) of the people scheduled for Brookwood within an hour.

...yeah

As far as I know, it isn't. rfscoach can probably give a more detailed answer.

Yeah, apparently band has also been moved. Just confirmed to 11 for us now, and possibly as much as 13 (four from our A team). What school are you from?

Sigh... I asked my orchestra teacher about it and he says that the person who made the decision said there will be no makeup auditions either. I'm from John's Creek :)

Yeah. Hopefully we can pull together enough people to cover the events where we're empty right now, but we'll probably have a lot of people going solo.
