Going back to regionals in general, at our regional one team, Wyoming Area, had people associated with them running about 10 B events. Then, they ended up upsetting Stroudsburg for first place. Coincidence? Well, at states, they finished in 11th place, behind 3 other teams from its regional (includign us

*edit* ok so what i said was pretty irrelevant, so idk about your case. If they were cheating there's nothing you can do about it.

What region are you in? PA's regionals don't start until March!

it is common that the hosting team does better at the regionals that they should and then bomb states. As for cheating, don't assume it is, but it might be possible because i think that the host team recieves all the tests in advance. The hosting team also has home team advantage, they know where everything is and if they forgot something at their school, oh look, the competition IS at their school so they can't forget anything.
my post is saying that the compeition is beining held by one of the competing schools. Was this what happend in your case?
No, our regionals are held in Penn State-Wilkes Barre. They just happened to be judging more events than usual.

I'll see if it happens again this year. Maybe it was just a huge coincidence.

I remember that, it was much better than at regionals. We pretty much just had to sit there for two hours until they were ready. The only problem with our regionals is that a lot of the supervisors don't really know the rules (or don't care). In Experimental design, when the supervisor said that time was up, we were the only team that was cleaned up with the lab ready to hand in like it said in the rules. He gave everyone else as much time as they needed to put together their lab and clean up, five minutes we could have used

I would have thought NY would be good with so many teams.

NY is probably pretty good, but we don't have anything else to compare it with... so when we say, 'Oh, Regionals is run really badly here,' we might just be complaining about the fact that Write It Do It always seems to be run by myopic third graders, and the competition might really be fantastic by most people's standards xD

Region 12 in Michigan is usually pretty well organized. I really like how it is. They actually have a really nice website.
