What region are you in? PA's regionals don't start until March!rjohnston wrote:i live in pa northern reagion and our reganals were last weekend and they ran very smoothly except for long testin and late starting due to judges being late
No, our regionals are held in Penn State-Wilkes Barre. They just happened to be judging more events than usual.smartkid222 wrote:for EASTstroudsburg13:
it is common that the hosting team does better at the regionals that they should and then bomb states. As for cheating, don't assume it is, but it might be possible because i think that the host team recieves all the tests in advance. The hosting team also has home team advantage, they know where everything is and if they forgot something at their school, oh look, the competition IS at their school so they can't forget anything.
my post is saying that the compeition is beining held by one of the competing schools. Was this what happend in your case?
I remember that, it was much better than at regionals. We pretty much just had to sit there for two hours until they were ready. The only problem with our regionals is that a lot of the supervisors don't really know the rules (or don't care). In Experimental design, when the supervisor said that time was up, we were the only team that was cleaned up with the lab ready to hand in like it said in the rules. He gave everyone else as much time as they needed to put together their lab and clean up, five minutes we could have usedgneissisnice wrote:Haha not at regionals, but at states, we had some mascots come up and "duke it out". It was sorta funny, in a lame way. Then, all the kids brought their sounds of music instruments up and they all played a song. It killed time, at least.
