Did you feel an electronic salinometer was really necessary? The normal one didn't work as well?
The normal one hadn't worked for me in the past, no. I didn't want to deal with the stress that I had been dealing with. To be completely honest, it was a lot easier to make the electronic one than the clay/straw one, and I trust it a lot more.darkdeserthighway wrote:Did you feel an electronic salinometer was really necessary? After I got the materials, all of ten minutes.darkdeserthighway wrote:oh, okay. how long did it take you to make the electronic?
You shouldn't have to, but I have taken multiple tests this year that had some macro identification. I would look over it just in case.alczha wrote:I'm kind of cramming for SciOly this year because I have so much stuff going on right now, and just to make sure I'm not missing anything.....we don't have to identify the macro-invertebrates this year, right? Instead we have to identify the coral reef animals?
Wow. Does it work perfectly for you, or are there some issuescaseyotis wrote:After I got the materials, all of ten minutes.darkdeserthighway wrote:oh, okay. how long did it take you to make the electronic?
Macroinvertebrates? Oh god no.alczha wrote:I'm kind of cramming for SciOly this year because I have so much stuff going on right now, and just to make sure I'm not missing anything.....we don't have to identify the macro-invertebrates this year, right? Don't know, because I didn't get to use it. xD But when testing, there really aren't any issues. I just make solutions and take note of what the readings are for each percentage. They don't vary with time, but again, I don't know. Next year I will (if WQ is an event).darkdeserthighway wrote:Wow. Yeah, only coral reef. You can study the macros if you feel it is necessaryalczha wrote:I'm kind of cramming for SciOly this year because I have so much stuff going on right now, and just to make sure I'm not missing anything.....we don't have to identify the macro-invertebrates this year, right? Okay. I don't think it will be an event next year, anyone know what will be replacing it?Don't know, because I didn't get to use it. xD But when testing, there really aren't any issues.
