Hope you guys enjoyed the Rocks and Mineral test, I think the event went pretty smoothly.
I wasn't personally involved in the grading, so I don't know what the grade distribution was like.

The 1 and 44 weren't striking outliers either -- I had plenty of teams in the single digits and plenty of teams in the 30s.
As Goldenknight said, that is pretty close to ideal.

Lol on the TPS test we got 72/120 and that was still 3rd place. I guess that means pretty much everyone else bombed it.

I think it's characteristic of teams to underperform at invites; when I wrote the Rocks test for the local Div B Invite the highest score was under a 59%. And when our team attended an invite last year, our Materials Science team won 2nd with around a 50% as well.
We were all competitors at one point, so you can gauge the difficulty of tests. I doubt any test written by a (former) Scioly participant was too hard

Well that depends on the person...like AlphaTauri and some others on this forum apparently think my tests are impossible (I think so far my tests have only had about...two or three people pass for any event)?

What was the actual weight of the unknown mass?
My team got a 24 but ended up in 4th place which leads me to believe that our build accuracy was pretty good.

Actually, I'd disagree. If a competitor's writing an event, they're probably very good at it, and I feel like they'd be likely to make it overly difficult without realizing it. For example, I've done Rocks and Minerals for years, so what would be an easy event for me could be very hard for the average Scio competitor.

I will be compiling all the scores and posting distributions sometime this weekend, so those who are interested can view it then. Also, exams and keys will be posted online as well soon so teams can use it to prepare for other competitions!

Syo_Astro did you write the astro test for the YUSO invite?

I did not in fact, but I'd love to see it. According to that last message from YUSO I guess I may be able to? What I mean is that I've made tests for one reason or another (practice for my team/others, tryouts), and people have told me that those tests are...quite difficult. I'd love to make the Yale test or some sort of test for a competition when I graduate I guess
