EDIT: and thanks forever and wiseguy for the update
It's 5 mirrors for both B and C I think, and time is not a factor in the final score. You just have 4 minutes maximum to do calculations, and since time isn't a factor, you should use all 4 minutes.

With 5 mirrors...you have to do those calculations really fast or find a formula.

With enough practice it shouldn't be overly difficult. Besides, the instant I saw the rules I was able to come up with an okay layout of mirrors. If you are seriously worried about time, you could try making a template, but since there are many added variables, it will (as previously said) be more difficult.

You want a formula? Angle of incidence = Angle of reflection. Boom, formula.

The one thing I wish we could have in this part of the event is triangles. They are basically a template for different angles of measurement, and templates are allowed. Oh, well, such are the breaks of SO.

Keep in mind measurement tools are also allowed... I think any reasonable person would call a triangle a measurement tool.

Are there some parts of the human eye that anyone here is almost certain will appear in any test? I would like to prepare properly for regionals this year because last year I did not prepare well at all.

From my experience, nothing will certainly appear on any test unless its specifically required in the rules (not relevant in optics). However, I would think the main parts of the eye such as the lens, retina, etc. have the highest probability among questions about the eye. Since we are allowed binders, might as well have reference material for all parts of the eye.

Hm, I just throw in a diagram of the eye just in case, (I study it though so I don't have to spend 20 minutes pouring over the picture during competition) and I found this list of the parts of the eye and what it does, so I throw that in our binder too, but I still study it.

It shouldn't be too hard. All the tests I've taken have it pretty light on the eye. Usually, it's more the mathematical stuff they're testing you on. I'm more worried about what hydrogen particle stuff they're going to throw at us this year.

Wait what? What hydrogen particle stuff? I don't see anything on the rules about that...o.o

Oh, I was under the impression triangles were not allowed. Thanks, chalker.
