Ward Melville and Half Hollow Hills are usually the top teams. Brentwood does well too, I think.imbasil wrote:Fair enough haha. Who's the powerhouses over in your division?

Re: New York 2010
That's very modest of you. Hills East has beaten you twice in fifteen years or so, and I don't think Brentwood ever has. WM has to be considered the clear favorite from ELI.gneissisnice wrote:Ward Melville and Half Hollow Hills are usually the top teams. Brentwood does well too, I think.imbasil wrote:Fair enough haha. Columbia was on fire last year, and judging from Athens is probably a safe bet. Niskayuna always does well, too, I think.imbasil wrote:Division C regionals for capital district are in 2 weeks! Does anyone have predictions?

Re: New York 2010
Given our (and I can't even really say 'our', since I wasn't at WM last year) second last year at Regionals, I'd say that "modesty" is understandable. In fact, I'd say "caution" more than "modesty."Flavorflav wrote:That's very modest of you. Hills East has beaten you twice in fifteen years or so, and I don't think Brentwood ever has. Columbia certainly seems likely, from the very, very little I know about Capital region, from Athens, and from the fact that our captains have referred to them as competition for the state second place xDFlavorflav wrote:Columbia was on fire last year, and judging from Athens is probably a safe bet. Re: New York 2010
They changed it again and now they pushed it back a week from the origional date. That makes the competition April 30, May 1!!! i assume thats the latest it's ever been. That leaves only 3 weeks between states and nationals.

Re: New York 2010
I would like to note that there was a tie between JD and FM Team II, Team II got placed 3rd in a tiebreaker which included sumobot and Protein modeling, since Team II did not do protein modeling we lost.Flavorflav wrote:Found a news report: http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/ ... ve_it.html

But Event Standings... seeing as I was there I remember some but not all of it.
I don't feel like trying to post what I remember about every single event, but if you ask me about specific ones you want to know, I'll try to remember.
One thing that was amusing though, our WIDI team placed first, that team had just been finalized 3 days beforehand. Mission similarly had only been started a week before and metaled.
Another thing, I still think a tie for second is dam.n impressive considering we had no help from our coaches whatsoever.
