I'd be happy to.

Just wondering, what would you would have done if given this during a test (taken from the Magsig Invitational)? Thanks in advance!

You must design, conduct and report your findings from an experiment dealing with viscosity.

Materials:
-3 Bottles with fluids
-10 Plastic Cups
-3 Styrofoam plates
-10 straws
-3 Transfer pipettes
-12 Toothpicks
-1 bottle of water
-3 marbles
-1 plastic spoon
-1 storage bag
-tape
-ruler, timer

Let's say your independent variable was, for example, the volume of NaCO3 that you're mixing with vinegar to produce a reaction (this was the independent variable my team used at the Athens Invitational). The levels of the variable could be 0 mL, 2 mL, 4 mL, and 6mL. Essentially, the "levels" of the variable are the amounts- or whatever unit your variable is measured in- at which you're testing your variable. The control is a baseline level of the variable- in the aforementioned example, it would be 0 mL.

Knowing my partner, we somehow would have built a ramp. Even though we weren't supposed to test anything having to do with a ramp, we would have done a ramp.

What were the "fluids" given? Or was it intentionally ambiguous?

Who competed at Nats in '09? (Div C) What was your experiment?

ALSO....what are some random, impressive statisticial tools that we can use in our analysis?
How do you know you are a real scientist...?
You finish 50+ at Science Olympiad Nationals.
Just call me Einstein.

Is there anybody who would like to offer any advice on how to write about the experimental control? For the last competition, I managed to lose both points in that category, and i don't know why. :?

Hi everyone, my coach just put me in this for some reason, she said I'd be good at it. Very unexpected, yet it sounds awesome! :D
