Well, the clue says twice as hard, so I'd imagine decode or encode the clue with a key of "hard" twice.

The MIT Invite comes up alot when searching up things being in the past.

"Promising" pops up especially with the last two sassy games and with a conversation involving UTF, T2D, and ellipses...

No other significant results.

It seems that we've solved the cipher.

My protect advice would be:

EDIT: If a Vigenere key of "oaig" is used (not sure of the significance), you get "linzhiyan". There is also no possible key that would give you "thechisci".
