Re: Ecology B/C
Learning adaptions doesn't take forever... and anyway, I'm going to put most of them on my notes sheet.

Re: Ecology B/C
What do you guys think about alternative energy? I do not think it should be with ecology, it has its own event: PSL. Any good resources of ideas?

Re: Ecology B/C
I think it ties into global warming, fossil fuels, and habitat destrucion. You mostly need to know how alternative energy can slow global warming, you should know if certain practices destroy the habitat (check out tar sand, there is a lot of it in the taiga), understand that habitats can not always simply move farther north (mountains, tree migration), and know the different forms of alternative energy and how they work. There is more but this is the 1st few things I could think of off the top of my head.
When it comes to the future, there are three kinds of people: those who let it happen, those who make it happen, and those who wonder what happened.

Re: Ecology B/C
Yup. That's what I was going to say.
It seems to be a really broad subject, though because the rules state: "The pros and cons of using alternative energy and it's effect on the environment."

If the rules day that a certain subject will be included in an event that is pretty unrelated to the actual topic of the event, then you probably wot get too many questions about that topic.AlphaTauri wrote:Yup. That's what I was going to say.

That just my opinion.
But alternative energy does relate to ecology, if only a little bit.

Re: Ecology B/C
Yeah, I agree.
I guess it would be good to know just in case. I don't think I will go that much in detail on it though...like amerikestrel said, there probably won't be many questions on it, and I certainly wouldn't want to waste precious time studying something that is not as important as grasslands and taiga, organisms in those environments, etc.

if we don't find a new energy sorce some day, polution will mess up a bunch of eco-systems (not a good thing)googlyfrog wrote:Howis alternative energy even related to ecology?

key words: "its effect on the environment"AlphaTauri wrote:"The pros and cons of using alternative energy and it's effect on the environment."
and the effects on plants/animals of course.
Nerds rule. Nerds are awesome. Nerds will someday (soon) rule the world. And you know it.

Re: Ecology B/C
How much do you usually have to know about biomes other than the ones that are focused on?
