if you want something more specific, the vexplorer ( u will have to modify it a little)
if you want to build everything on you own, buy individual parts

Many people use VEX and it is convienient but very weak. Originally we used VEX but we had to replace numerous gearboxes, individual gears and other parts. If you just want to get something done quickly and you don't have much experience building things then VEX is probably an OK idea. If you want something that won't break after using it a few times then look elsewhere. I like to buy gearmotors off Ebay and use standard RC surface vehicle controllers. THere are servos available for RC systems that are virtually unbreakable and will power anything you could possibly need in a ROBOCROSS device.

yeah
the biggest problem with my robot was that the gears that we used to dump the stuff into the goal would always break teeth off every 10-15 runs if we
we had to gear it so that there was more torque, so there was more stress on the gears, but we were thinking about making metal ones, but we dismissed that idea once we were able to change the gears quickly enough to not be a problem

our robt keeps leting go of the object or it couldn't even lift it and we can't find out why it won't. Does anyone have an idea to fix this?
