HI
I just had my Invitational event. My partner was gone  so I didn't do very well. I didn't place. Any tips? I knew the constellations and most deep sky objects, but didn't really know the stars.

Well you just gotta learn the stars, I advise flash cards with a constellation on the front and an arrow pointing to the stars and the back is the stars name.

I just associate the stars with their constellations. If you can do this, you're set.

Our school has a StarLab, though, so we're all set.

Wow, that's really cool! Our school doesn't have the funding for that kind of stuff. :x

I believe that it's the only StarLab in the county, though I heard that Unami has one. Believe me, it's a great investment (if you can scrape up the money).

With the StarLab, we don't have to study the constellations, then, and we can dedicate our entire time (and space on the notes) to studying stellar evolution and all the other stuff that will be on the objective portion of the test. :)
