TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS
Caravels were really good bc of the stern placed rudder in the back
Could travel against the wind, turn, lateen sails, very fast, high stats
Astrolabe and magnetic compass put them on an even field with the rest of the world
Allows ppl to find out where north and their locations-> could get anywhere
Portolan map was a map
Measured distance by plotting a shoreline place piece by piece
Guns + gunpowder allowed them to conquer
Took firearms and created much more advanced more effective over the shoulder muskets etc.
Cannons and they put them on ships
They just conquered everything due to superior firepower
Steel weaponry + armor + horses gave them a huge hand against the new world
Native Americans don’t have that much stuff
So Europeans were superior
