It'll be difficult, but you can definitely find someone. From a google search, you school has a larger number of teachers than Chattahoochee; there's probably someone out there willing to do it if you phrase it to them well (<- I suggest you ask one of the more experienced people for more info about this)texas wrote:There aren't a lot of staff members or teachers willing to be our head coach. We do have some structure, but the school won't let us have a student-run team. Plus, most of the students aren't that interested in science olympiad, because their parents forced them to try out.

Our school doesn't really need anyone to actually coach us. we just need someone who can do all of the financial/administrative stuff. I'm pretty sure we don't even need a teacher to show up to competitions. The problem is that our school also requires that any club or team that meets afterschool has to be supervised by a teacher. And believe me, there are not that many teachers willing to supervise us (just come to our school at 2:45 any Tuesday or Thursday and you will see Indians randomly scattered across the school, taking over the teacher's lounge, and setting up a buffet in the computer lab). Also, a lot of teachers have kids and other stuff to do afterschool, so they can't really be our coach.Unome wrote:It'll be difficult, but you can definitely find someone. Still try. Think it through and ask for advice from people who know what they're talking about, and approach some teachers about it.texas wrote:Our school doesn't really need anyone to actually coach us. we just need someone who can do all of the financial/administrative stuff. When you completely ignore your friends on a road trip as you stare out of the car windows, internally screaming in pain at all the invasive species you see racing by the window.

When you spend your whole afternoon yelling at people to join Science Olympiad for 6 hours straight and lose your voice at the end.

You cry yourself to sleep because you miss Meteorology so much that you can not function. And you see all these younglings enjoying it but you just can't.
