So as of the conclusion of this weekend science olympiad is offically over until next years season (which for my school isnt til december or so)

any illinois-related stories? weird stuff thats happened @ invites or odd people or supervisors?

No, but that convo kind of died a week ago I believe so I was starting a new one. . .

Nationals was actually pretty fun- although I wasn't competing.

hm, how did it go for you as a spectator?

it was fun- I got to talk to alot of people and coaches while I watched. I met Dave Zigler (guy pretty much everyone buys helicopter kits from) and we talked for a bit. Saw all the helicopters and some bridges and watched the finals bracket of sumo bots. it was a fun time

hm, i heard that there was a demo event called bird flying, with ornithcopters, i was wondering if you saw that...and was curious as to how it was...

hahahaha that. ya it was pretty failure. They flew maybe 6 times over the whole day. only 1 competitors flew. a 2nd flew- but it was made by the guy who knows alot about planes and helicopters. a real expert.

hmm, but it's a demo event, and like they don't really count for nats scores, but i was just wondering how it went...i wish they would put it as a REAL EVENT!! then, we prob could do better cuz we would have longer time to prepare...

The Peoples I saw were really complex and touchy. I honestly would hate to build one- too much mechanical stuff made of balsa wood joints (which break easily) and Way to hard to make. I can honestly say that I - the only builder on my team next year- will never build one. Not worth it.
