I've heard of Algebra 2 and College Algebra (about the same thing), but I haven't heard of Algebra 3 or 4??

College Algebra? I don't think the math in high school Alg II is the same algebra you learn in college, is it? Or is it similar to how non-honors classes are called college-prep?

I've heard of algebra 3 but not of 4. I always thought that algebra 2 is college algebra for high schoolers. Not sure though.

I am quite bad at competitive maths and lots of the thinking stuff.

College algebra is typically a combination of precalc and alg II (aka what it should be in my opinion, kind of wasting two years, don't get me started about geometry). Used as a catch-up for college students who are behind AFAIK. Not to be confused with linear algebra, which is all the stuff with matrices and vector transformations that you take after multivariable calculus and usually alongside differential equations.
