I would say the top 5 are, in no particular order, OH, PA, MI, CA, and NY.

If your only talking getting first, C division PA and SCA are by far the hardest. Troy domintates Southern Cal, and Harriton got a 65 in PA, beating out 2nd placed Penncrest (who got top 10 at nats last year) by about 70 points. If your talking about making nats, then deffinately Ohio for C

New York would have to go in that catagory too. Its its almost impossible to get first cause F-M domintaes(i don't know much about SoCal but Its probobly similar to Troy's domination)

:o :o :o
Can you people please differentiate between SoCal and NorCal, cause NorCal while the results are quite spread out with no team getting firsts all the time there is still an obvious winner. I can't speak for SoCal

2009 difference between 1st and 2nd was more than the total score of the first.

1st beat 2nd by 106 points; 70-176
How does that signify "hardest"? If there's only one good team that doesn't mean anything. A state's strength comes from how many good teams.
yea if that was the case ny could be the hardest by a ton the state competition is basically for second because f-m wins like every year and by a lot
a case can be made for NY anyway because of shear number of teams and good teams
it is the hardest, can u go to nationals ever if you always are beat by the same team...

CA, MI, NY, Penn, and OH are probably the top 5
