Yeah, the CD was a HUGE waste of money. I just got it today, and I was severely disappointed. I had read that same powerpoint before, and most of the other stuff was already on the internet. A lot of the things also wouldnt open with my version of Windows Media Player.
That was SO not cool of you, SOINC store, selling me shoddy merchandise.

thanks baker, but it turns out my coach had ordered it the day before i read this, overnight shipping. but no biggie, we bought it with sponsor money.

Gneiss, it sucked. It had no image interpretation help, but just a load of dumb images.

You think that's bad? I bought the Rocks, Minerals and Fossils guide. It had like two pages on Fossils. I can't believe that had the nerve to sell that this year. By comparison, the Remote stuff is gold.

Well, the text documents are, but the images are crappy.

Remote Sensing and Image Interpretation and Remote Sensing: Principles and Interpretation are two excellent textbooks that I have used in the past as references and resources for learning new material. In particular, both of these books contain a large number of color plates that include detailed descriptions of images to help you gain a practical knowledge of how remote sensing is used. The books also contain a decent amount of information/plates on environmental remote sensing, which is of particular importance for the focus of this year's event.

I don't have a clue what I am doing. Somebody HELP!!

i had to switch to this from another event last week so i really don't know what i'm doing
is there anythiing really useful on the remote sensing cd?
and are they going to focus on remote sensing images or the effects of global warming?

It does help to study, and look up the stuff on the rules, but it really helps if you know what'll be on the test, so if you haven't taken any try to get a practice test online.
