I have no clue what my teams going to do in 2010 once i leave since i'm their main builder and we dont really have any other builders besides one kid thats pretty good at trajectory but i'm not sure if he can build anything else.

new builders only need some guidance. sure the learning curve is steep when introduced to building events, but give him some hints in the right direction and your team should be fine.

yeah, anyone can do the building events, i'd be more worried about my team trying to replace people in the study events

I don't know rocketman we tried to do that this year just put whoever on the building events and we ended up bombing 2 of them and if we had gotten a medal in each of those we would have gone to nationals. The three events with experienced builders we did quite well no worse then third place. a builder needs to be able to understand the device well enough to be able to use it correctly in competition. They also need to have access to the materials so they can build the device. Finally they need to have knowledge enough to be able to build a device so that it performs well enough to represent their team well.

Seems like it would've been pretty predictable since they've been rotating them like that for at least 9 years...

And fossils is an amazing event. Dont diss Phacops! And if you dont know what that is, you better start studying.

lol i can imagine all you rock freaks having just as much fun in this event. its the same stuff, just different stuff. you'll still get into it.
