i think it does. some people just want to be recognised for their contributions to the site and to the wiki. how would you fell if you spent 10 hours editing the wiki (with helpful information) and didn't get recognised for it?

Which is why karma is a good way to go, it allows people to recognise each other for their contributions.
P.S. if you want to be recognized for editing the wiki you need to do at least 20 hours of work

Just fine, as I'd be doing it to help others out, not to get stars or medals.

Umm... I'm fine with not being recognized for doing something like that, actually. It's not something I'm going to brag about at school.

Really? Everytime I edit the wiki, I go to my friends and say, "No big deal, but I just added info about Bridge Designs to the Elevated Bridge page. I'm basically the best because of that contribution."

Well, the only reason I don't tell people about it is because I don't need the attention and awe they invariably bestow on me.

I really wouldn't think editing the wiki would bestow any attention from anyone--people would be just like "yeah ok.....whatever."

Well, I feel good about editing the wiki, and I don't think I need that much recognition if I make some changes here and there. Although I like the fact that I pretty much built up the JTL team page from scratch.

Well, fmtiger, it's shows people that if they do something good they get a lovely icon that never take part in there real life except, if you have other team members on this website.<( Oh! I'm an exalted member and you are not!) AND I JUST CONTRIBUTED TO THE ECOLOGY WIKI<<<<<<<<<<YA I REALLY WANT AN ADMIN. OR MOD. TO SEE THIS.

guys the purpose of this thread is knot to Brag about editing the wiki.Bragging will just make it less likely for Dark Sabre to give you anything for it
