advantages: most accurate, good measure of exposure disadvantages: time consuming and expensive.

Odds Ratio is used to estabilish the presense of a cause by measuring the association between exposure and outcome. They are typically used in case-control studies, as that type of study investigates exposure and outcomes. Its calculation considers those where exposure is a factor and where exposure is not a factor.
