Re: Unofficial Rankings, Division B

Post by MVHAWK »

To add on to this, I compiled State Rankings for Division B by taking the results of a state's team/teams in the last 3 National Tournaments and finding the average. Feel free to disagree, because this is purely mathematical. Also, this isn't ranking individual teams, but the state as a whole.
1 Ohio
2 Illinois
3 California
4 New York
5 Virginia
6 Michigan
7 Georgia
8 Washington
9 Pennsylvania
10 New Jersey

Despite East's post, we definitely don't deserve to be 8th at this point in the season (especially since Shady Side isn't there). We've gone up against Gelinas already this year, and they were better than us. The Rustin Invitational scores were something like this:

1. Gelinas A 139
2. Eagle Hill 140
3. Strath Haven A 155
4. Strath Haven B 200

We'll have to wait and see how PA States plays out between us and Shady Side, I guess :) .

Strath Haven High School Class of 2016

2016 States Results:
Invasive Species: 1st
Dynamic Planet: 1st
Disease Detectives: 5th
Anatomy: 6th

Team Place: 4th

Alright, it's hard with invitational tournaments because the list for them just shows the Champ and the runner-up. I don't even know who goes to what tournament sometimes, though I try to figure it out, so thanks for that. On a somewhat related topic, does everyone agree that Eagle Hill should make the list?

Paul J. Gelinas won New York against Eagle Hill on April 12 at States. I'm so proud of everyone, because we all worked really hard for that win.

May want to consider #14 from MVHawk. Difficult to see 34, 16, 12 averaging out to 14th best but it is only the 4th year for that school and it's clearly an upward trend, although last 2 years could've both been top 10 without some things going wrong.

Also, although DW has won state the last two years, MM was national runner-up so I'd hesitate to rank DW that high or above MM.

Wow, that's impressive, winning by more than 60 points. They'll definitely be on next week's rankings.

The question should be how can you not put Churchill in the top 10?? For that matter I wouldn't be surprised to see them get in the top five at Nats again.
