Thanks! The thing is, we only participate one division. I'm not sure about our High School Team, or if we even have one.

No, what he means is that your team must rank first overall in division B for your state. That means your ENTIRE team.

To be explicitly clear on this: A typical tournament has 23 events in each division (B for Middle School or C for High School). The divisions are completely independent of each other. For each event there are rankings and medals given out to various students from various teams. The ranks of all the events are combined together resulting in an overall team ranking. In most states if your overall team rank is 1st in the state, your entire team goes to Nationals (1 C division team and 1 B division team, not necessarily from the same school district). In some states it's both 1st and 2nd place teams that get to go.

Note that you (and your partner for a specific event) individually can do really well in an event or two (even get 1st place), but if the rest of your team members don't do equally well in their events your entire team is unlikely to rank high enough to get 1st place overall.

Physics is difficult for 99% of the world's population because they don't understand it. The other 1% know too much.

Ok, if you don't mind me asking, why are you worrying about nationals if it isn't even State/Regionals yet? Besides, winning state means going to Nats, right?

In Cali (southern), for division C it's probably Troy (surprised? Didn't think so.)
Division B.....most likely Muscatel?
