I will have to agree with you, Dark Sabre, because, albeit, I'm not usually a casual user, usually I'll dig pretty deep, but when te occasion comes around that I am, then i'll do exactly as you say, and just go to the easy stuff, but if i find a link im interested in, then i'll follow that, so maybe if we did add links to the wiki pages (i cant remember if they're there or not), that would help the casual user have easier access to that stuff that's indirect.

I think that there should be some easy way to find the "unhelpful" misc pages, but maybe just a single link under the name Misc in the homepage would be ok, and that would just link to another page of links which would have pages that aren't event info, team pages, user pages or state pages
In other things, when is the board gonna rollover?

So, are you asking for a Category:Not In a Category?

But actually, something like a Category:Miscellany could do the trick.

Yeah something like that, but with a link in the home page, and that specific page would need some work, there's alot of stuff on there that is in a category

No real reason for it to be on the homepage. If you want to find pages it isn't hard to look at lists of pages or look through categories.

But how would people know to do that, there isn't even a link for categories on the main page

As Dark Sabre said, most casual users aren't going to be digging around for those pages. They're easy enough to find if you want to take the time to look.

How about an online SO invitational hosted by scioly? This would be particularly helpful for teams preparing for nationals and for teams which dont want to travel.

For study events, there would need to be a committee which writes the tests or each team can submit a few questions etc...
For building events, the team would have to videotape the device in action, clearly show that it passes the rules and calculate the score.

lab events might be difficult to conduct online. If a certain event or part of an event cannot be performed online, it can simply be omitted.
