that's kinda strange since F. Scott Fitzgerald was from the American Revolution era and the Legend of Zelda games were manufactured in Japan by the Nintendo corporation quite a while after the war ended.

By American Revolution era, do you mean the Revolutionary War era? Cause he wrote "The Great Gatsby" circa 1940ish. Which is fairly recent. And Zelda Sayre was pretty famous too.

so history isn't my srongest subject, my point is, why would the Japanese care about and name a video game character after his wife?
