I must say that this is a great idea for scioly and I am kind of surprised no one bothered to start it earlier...
This is either a Red Tailed Hawk or a Cooper's Hawk. I wish there was a simple rule for identifying the difference betweent the 2 (particularly when you can't see the other side of the tail). Because of the white patch above the base of the tail, I pick Cooper's Hawk.
When it comes to the future, there are three kinds of people: those who let it happen, those who make it happen, and those who wonder what happened.
right paradox... the issue I have is between coopers hawk and the northern harrier. People say it's easy to tell the apart, but their markings can be so similar.
um... my guess is cooper's hawk??
