what was the ceiling like? Flat? Girders?JasperKota wrote:Not that I know of but I didn't hear of a ton of times. Times I did hear about were around the just above 2 minutes range though.

Re: Times
There were girders and ceiling lights, during my first flight we crashed into girders twice and the wing broke off the second time. There was also a ceiling divider running across the room that was a little lower than the girders, but very avoidable.Rossyspsce wrote: what was the ceiling like? Flat? Girders?

He's referring to an indoor field. An 8-gram plane would not survive all the drafts outside. In my opinion, I would not risk flying outside at all.CookiePie1 wrote:You guys had wright stuff outside??Polar wrote:For Indiana state, first place was 3:33 in a field with an effective ceiling height of 60 feet.

They aren't pennyplanes. Besides... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlD8ON4DNeIOpticsNerd wrote: An 8-gram plane would not survive all the drafts outside. In my opinion, I would not risk flying outside at all.
Not a marketing plug, just making the point that these planes are built very, very strongly. Any WS plane built to minimum weight this year would be fine outdoors. If it's windy, don't do it, mainly because you'll lose the plane in a tree and destroy it getting it back down.

We got 3:00 from 20 ft ceiling in practice and repeated quite well.jsegal wrote:Is anyone getting above 3 minutes in a 20-22ft ceiling
In regional competition with 29 ft, ceiling, still 3:03 because touch with light. Second run was worse, wing got knocked off.

it's not about the medals; go out there and have fun. make progress, learn a few things and have one heck of a time; that's all that matters.

Thanks for asking. It is repairable, but you have to build new one for state, right?klastyioer wrote:rip is ur plane ok?jinhusong wrote:We got 3:00 from 20 ft ceiling in practice and repeated quite well.jsegal wrote:Is anyone getting above 3 minutes in a 20-22ft ceiling
