Re: Can't Judge a Powder B
Any help with finding a "typical" voltmeter for this event? I'm not sure what kind will work and don't want to dump a ton of budget money for a more complex one when the team could have gotten away with a cheapie.
Which to buy?
Which to buy?

uhh, i don't think you're allowed to bring one.. the rules say a battery conductivity tester.
and for ionic/covelent compounds:
ionic compounds are: brittle, hard, and have a high melting point
covelent compounds are: usually liquids or gases at room temperature.

Re: Can't Judge a Powder B
I have battery operated multimeters. Will these do? Am I looking at just the simple 9 volt connected to an LED (hi/med/low) or do they require that I have some digital readout, i.e. numbers?

Re: Can't Judge a Powder B
ok for all of you wondering about conductivity testers there are a few options ( i dont believe they will allow voltmeters)
you can buy one from a science supply site for amazon
or you can make your own with just a few supplies to make your own you can follow the instructions on this site

Re: Can't Judge a Powder B
Does anyoen know if there a place where you can find a list of indicators? Not pH indicators, but like lugol's, bromethyl blue, etc. that test for proteins and carbohydrates and stuff? I've looked all over google and a few textbooks, and the only things I came up with were pH indicators.
Hi. I have a messed up sleep cycle. Thank you, scioly.
