The friction between the rotors and the shaft is not allowing the rotors to spin fast enough, so it is struggling to even fly. Thanks for your help.

Hm...describe what materials you are using to make your heli. A picture/diagram might help too for explaining.

The glass beads provided with the FFM kit have always worked well for me.

When it says "marked with a black marker" does that mean the entire surface? I see the FFM diagram does have it covered (and I'd assume it'd be necessary because of visibility) but the wording, to me, seems otherwise. And I'm afraid I will manage to puncture a hole if I try to color it all. Thanks!

Rule 3.f.
Is the limit of "up to three fixed pitch rotors, not exceeding a maximum diameter of 30.00 cm" a limit on each rotor, or combined? That is, can I use three (3) 30cm rotors, or am I limited to 3 rotors of 10cm, 2 rotors of 15cm or 1 rotor of 30cm?

Each can be 30 cm (unofficial of course, but it's not really a controversial interpretation).
