I'm pretty sure he's replaced the metal surface with melamine after having lots of issues with it. Note that the Div C and Div B tracks will be different types.

Re: Hovercraft B/C
For the batteries on the hovercraft, we're fine as long as the voltage on the label is showing right? On our hovercraft we have velcro tape covering the label on the battery; the only thing on the label that's not covered by the tape is the voltage of the battery.

Might be a bit risky if you have a really finicky ES, but I doubt you should run into an issue at Nationals.ericlepanda wrote:For the batteries on the hovercraft, we're fine as long as the voltage on the label is showing right? Does this mean steel angle iron?windu34 wrote:The national ES for hovercraft will bring his own steel tracks to the national tournamentantoine_ego wrote:I looked at the competition venues on the Wright State website, and they were using non-steel tracks on the bottom. Does this mean that these are the types of tracks that are going to be used?

Re: Hovercraft B/C
Basically. The track that I have seen at almost every invitational is as if two pieces of aluminium angle iron are joined.
Build score of 49.88/50 at Nationals!? Slacker!

Re: Hovercraft B/C
I beg to differ, at MIT, the track was much smoother than we anticipated, so we went wayy too fast. Are we going to be allowed to test the track the day before Nats?Ashernoel wrote:The material of the track doesn't matter.. we get so many runs to test it out...

Re: Hovercraft B/C
I do not know if we are allowed to test before, which would be nice, but my guess is that the track will be melamine or some surface close to that, so that is what I'm going to build my track on.antoine_ego wrote:I beg to differ, at MIT, the track was much smoother than we anticipated, so we went wayy too fast. Re: Hovercraft B/C
At our second invitational, we were not allowed to test during the 8 min prep time. Every run counted. //just realized i forgot to ask if we could at state and assumed we couldnt ripcheese wrote:I do not know if we are allowed to test before, which would be nice, but my guess is that the track will be melamine or some surface close to that, so that is what I'm going to build my track on.antoine_ego wrote:I beg to differ, at MIT, the track was much smoother than we anticipated, so we went wayy too fast.
