I ran Scambler once, at the E.L.I. regional last year. I used three eggs all day. If the egg is any good to begin with, it shouldn't deteriorate that much on an ordinary run. The bigger problem, to me, is that they counted eggs that broke before launch. I don't have B rules handy, but unless that situation were specifically addressed in the rules, I would be inclined to allow a team whose egg broke before launch to try again with another egg.
I'm not sure, but I think I once heard this issue addressed somewhere else. If I recall correctly, the consensus was that it either was in the rules or in some clarification at some point that each team only gets one egg.

(Our tech coach always played a joke on the Scrambler kids last year, asking them if they'd remembered to bring their egg  )

yea i think it is consensus that u get one egg i ant remember where it is. And an egg could be damaged in a normal run, if it gets josteled around. I think every team is supposed to get only one new unuesed egg

Did anyone think it kind of wrong to give a different road map than what we were told? Obviously, if you have good map skills, you can apply it to any road map, but why put in time getting to know one specific map only to find out when you get there that it wasn't the one you were being tested on. If they didn't want us to know the map, then they shouldn't tell you anything. Does anyone know why that happened?

They probably just decided to change the event at the last minute or something like that.

Does anyone remember how long it took them last year to put the building event scores online last year?

i also thought that was very strange to be given a different map! we were very surprised to come in to a louisiana mississippi map...
we also thought it was strange that the writer reused a story (it was last year's nationals story). AND the fact that they had the scale for the student generated map wrong! We had to completely re-do it!
