That's how it worked for us in middle school, too. I think most teams are a little more organized in high school.

Well, I'm sure there ARE division B teams out there which have actual organization, funding, etc. but I don't think most do.

Well, I went to Kennedy, but we had to do the whole drive-ourselves-to-states thing and such. However, kjhsscioly was on varsity when the went to nationals (I was only on varsity in 8th grade, JV seventh, not 6th) and I'm pretty sure they got part of airfare + hotel paid for by the school (it was in DC that year).

I got a good score on the tryouts - despite the c*** dip thing - and the best in the grade. But I - of course - didn't get onto varsity. Said that they wanted to "give the 8th graders their last chance."

yaa no. We essentially have 0 funding in high school, basically enough to pay for the big expense of Mission Possible but for all the other building stuff and resources is out of your pocket. Although our school pays for state hotels/food b/c we're 'representing' them xD

And no one on our team studies so I doubt we'll make state next year... If not, I'm going to call up another HS that is and ask if I can help with the building events that I do very well in exchange for a medal if they win in those events (although I'm only a guru in 2 events... for the moment...)

I've been checking on the Avogrado site, which appears to be a joke, and there's nothing new-ever.

Does anyone have information, regarding the final scoring at State? I'm primarily interested in middle school divisions.
