Well, in the forum it is mentioned many a time that the test score is more important than the device part's score; it is mainly about the device section as most of us are new to the event, and while we know how to tackle the test, figuring out the device is harder, so we discuss how to most efficiently insulate the beaker. If you want to ace the test, I recommend adding to your notes a table of contents, history, and studying how to do thermodynamics in AP Chem and AP Physics II.kendreaditya wrote:I like how this forum is mainly dedicated towards the device and attaining the best prediction and thermal score, but the most important part of this event is the test. At MC Barrons I got 1st in Prediction, 2nd in Heat Retention, but LAST (that how dumb I am, and we had the biggest binder XD, I guess intimidation does not work) in the test. So, I got 16th!

Seconded (it's getting kind of lonely over there)Justin72835 wrote:Yes, everyone should definitely check out the question marathon.TheChiScientist wrote:If anyone has Thermophysics questions we should start asking them seeing how I think that is some of the hardest portions of the test.(or would that be a question marathon thing)

Can you clarify what you mean by "studying how to do thermodynamics in AP Chem and AP Physics II"?JoeyC wrote:Well, in the forum it is mentioned many a time that the test score is more important than the device part's score; it is mainly about the device section as most of us are new to the event, and while we know how to tackle the test, figuring out the device is harder, so we discuss how to most efficiently insulate the beaker. Personally I learned everything solely from khanacademy and lots of googling. HyperPhysics is also an amazing website.arv101 wrote:Can you clarify what you mean by "studying how to do thermodynamics in AP Chem and AP Physics II"?JoeyC wrote:Well, in the forum it is mentioned many a time that the test score is more important than the device part's score; it is mainly about the device section as most of us are new to the event, and while we know how to tackle the test, figuring out the device is harder, so we discuss how to most efficiently insulate the beaker.
