Re: Invasive Species B/C
If it's just the seeds you're having trouble with, why not just create a separate document with only seed pictures.

That's a good ideaJohn Richardsim wrote:If it's just the seeds you're having trouble with, why not just create a separate document with only seed pictures.

Will do. But just out of curiosity, does identifying seeds come as naturally to everyone else?

I cringe inside when I see a seed pic on a test. Very difficult, but completely fair and definitely something to prepare forEntomology wrote:windu34 wrote:That's a good ideaJohn Richardsim wrote:If it's just the seeds you're having trouble with, why not just create a separate document with only seed pictures.

They are uncommon in the tests I have seen, but as windu said they are totally fair. Yea if you want to get better at identifying things PRACTICE PRACTICE. A good tip would be to maybe start a quizzlet of just plant seeds (or see if someone made one) and practice ID for just seeds. You can apply that for any other ID you have trouble with. The seeds are difficult at first but with practice the obvious ones should come to you semi-easily.windu34 wrote:I cringe inside when I see a seed pic on a test. Re: Invasive Species B/C
I haven't really encountered seed ID, but my partner and I made a full scale ID guide at the front of our binder that includes eggs, flowers, leaves, seeds, etc. organized by color, kind of like a dichotomous key (except faster to flip through). This ID guide has helped tremendously when IDing honeysuckles (which are in abundance on the Pennsylvania States list).Fluorine wrote:They are uncommon in the tests I have seen, but as windu said they are totally fair. Re: Invasive Species B/C
What is the best way to find information on laws/regulations? I'm finding it incredibly difficult to find legislation for invertebrates, but maybe I am not searching correctly.

I've just searched in depth here: https://www.invasivespeciesinfo.gov/laws/main.shtmlwindu34 wrote:What is the best way to find information on laws/regulations? I'm finding it incredibly difficult to find legislation for invertebrates, but maybe I am not searching correctly.
Also, finding other sources to cover larger topics such as the Lacey Act, and the 100th Meridian Initiative.

Ive searched through that site extensively as well, but I cant find any actual names of laws/legislation for specific species. Maybe there is no legislation for them. The site talks about measures taken such as quarantine, but states no names of legislationRaven wrote:I've just searched in depth here: https://www.invasivespeciesinfo.gov/laws/main.shtmlwindu34 wrote:What is the best way to find information on laws/regulations? That's because it's not legislation - it's regulation put in place by the executive branch, typically the USDA or USFWS and their brancheswindu34 wrote:Ive searched through that site extensively as well, but I cant find any actual names of laws/legislation for specific species.
