I haven't seen anything to do with it other than "Why does water appear dark at IR wavelengths?" but I've only been to an invitational.

This is my first year doing Science Olympiad, and this is going to be my first event! (I'm a Freshman) I have a lot of questions. So here it goes:
1.Do you just go into a room with your partner and take a written test?
2. Or do you and your partner work on different tests?
3.Is the test oral, multiple choice, short answer, essay?
4.How long is the testing period usually? Is there even a time limit?
5.When they give you an image, do they basically just ask you about how the image was taken and what some landmarks are?
6. What kind of math problems are there? (I'm only taking geometry now.)

I probably have many more questions, but that's all I can think of right now.

3. Depends, but usually short answer or multiple choice
4. See the rules. Usually ~50 minutes
5. They'll ask about the wavelengths used, what it's of, and more.
6. I don't know. I'm assuming that you'll be fine, assuming that you know basic trig, which is taught as part of geometry (sine, cosine, tangent).

I'm slightly confused about this event...

The National Science Olympiad website gives you a bunch of helpful links for studying this event, however most of these links are to websites that specialize in remote sensing on Mars. Does anyone know of any sites that are specifically about remote sensing on Earth?

You're probably right. The past 2 (3?) years, this event has been focused entirely on RS on Mars... Martian geography/geology/etc.

This year it finally switched back to Earth and soinc.org is generally very bad at keeping the links up to date and useful.

I'm not in the event this year though, so hopefully some others can post some links.

If you still have time, buy the CD from SOINC. Some of them are not very useful, but this one really is.

I just ordered the CD...and is it just me, or is shipping ridiculously expensive?
nearly $12 for the cheapest shipping, and next day shipping is $40. Come on soinc, thats not cool.

i checked the site for that cd, it says its on backorder until 1/20/09... do they just fail at updating or were you able to successfully order your copy?
