We can't post the exact rules for copyright reasons, but the five subjects are rotor/ blade design, power generators, power storage, power transmission, and historical wind power designs. They are very specific and require a minimum of 25 questions per test, 5 per subject.
I would recommend reading plenty of scientific literature.
Can someone elaborate on what the middle 3 things(power generators, power storage, and power transmission) actually entail? The rules didn't explain too much.
They certainly were not clear, so this is speculation:
- Generators- function, structure, physics problems about how much power must be produced
- Storage- batteries and capacitors (maybe, idk)
- Transmission- I honestly have no idea
ii. basically, how different energy sources are harnessed; designs and dependence on specific sources
iii. storage of power, batteries, use of stored power and access to said power
iv. movement of electricity to places where it's needed (i.e. from country to city), problems/solutions of transmission of power

What is a good source to learn the information we need to know?

Try finding resources describing alternative energy sources and wind power designs and uses in real life.

The point of the event is for you to figure that out.

I know, just testing.

I have tried different ones but none are awesome.

In the rules manual.
If your coach doesn't have them, either ask them to order the rules from
the store or do it yourself.
