Here is the link to the EV kit on Ward Science, all the scioly kits are on there.
A word of caution though: I personally don't think these kits are the best by any means or the end all be all to EV. It can be a good place to start, though!
As far as wheels, wheels are found in the kit. If you want wheels outside of that, I wouldn't recommend discs, like CDs. There was another post earlier in the forum here.

Depending on how much time, brains, and money you got. If you are using high speed motors, you will NOT want to use CD's because they will not "grab" the floor (coefficient of friction will be too small). Look into Banebots.

I have a question I was hoping someone could answer for me without me having to submit a rules clarification. The rules state that "The vehicle may use no more than 6 individual cell (labeled 1.5 volts or less each), a single 9-volt battery, or a single battery pack (labeled 7.2 volts or less) at any given time during the 8 minutes. Batteries need not be installed until immediately prior to the run. Only electrical energy stored in these batteries may be used to propel the vehicle."

Then it goes on to say, " Additional energy sources may be used to operate other functions (e.g., braking system) provided these functions do NOT help propel the vehicle in any way."

So my question is this: would a battery that is used to power a microcontroller (that would not help propel the vehicle) need to be included into 6 cells or single 9 volt battery? When they say ADDITIONAL energy sources can be used to operate other functions, are they saying that you are permitted to add batteries outside the 6 cells or single 9 volt battery?

I understand that any rules clarifications are unofficial, but does anyone have an answer for me?

One of the teams that got close to 3s had one motor in the back driving a single wheel and two wheels in the front.

Did you see what type of motor it was? brushless? Microcontroller?
so it was single-wheeled drive or three-wheeled drive?
