Thank you to all the people who helped make the Rustin Tournament such a success. We hope everyone had a good time, and will use the experience to help get ready for regional tournaments.

The tournament was run very professionally, and our team appreciated all the hospitality of the Rustin staff.

Good luck to everyone.

Yeah, actually my team is hosting it. Pretty good tournament, decent teams. Last year there was snow and lots of teams couldn't make it, so...

I went to Tiger my senior year, and it was great. Well run, good competition (WWP South and North, Charter School of Wilmington, Rustin, and Stoga were all there, among others), and the added benefit of only being about an hour from East Stroudsburg! Plus I got two medals, which always helps.

I'll be going to Tiger, and I've gone every year I've competed in Division C. Generally, it's an extremely well-run competition with really good competition and good tests. I can't really think of anything that's bad about it aside from the layout of the school being a tiny bit confusing if it's your first time going.

According to this Mount Nittany and Park Forest seem to be competing in the Northeast region this year. When they last competed in NE in 2012, Park Forest got 3rd and Mount Nittany got 5th, and then they finished 4th and 15th at states, respectively. My immediate impression is that even though Mount Nittany missed states last year, this definitely makes the region more competitive, as you now have those two plus Stroudsburg, Abington Heights, J.T. Lambert, Wyoming Area, and Wayne Highlands battling for the top spots, plus other teams if they were to make strides, battling for what was 7 states spots last year.

It also is the first time Wyoming Area will battle the two State College middle schools at regionals, since in 2012 Wyoming Area did not compete. One thing I can definitely say, this is going to be one interesting regional.

The list of teams in C seems pretty straightforward, although I see Pleasant Valley listed this year. In the past they've competed at the NCC tournament for teams in the Mountain Valley and Lehigh Valley Conferences, but have never gone to regionals. If they go this year, I believe it would be their first time. I'm excited to see how they fare!

Speaking of Tiger, how about Northwestern getting 4th place at the Solon invitational?

I'm basically just going to quote what I said over on the Ohio thread so I don't repeat myself too much. ;)
EASTstroudsburg13 wrote:Northwestern Lehigh has really been putting on a show. They got 6th school at Stoga and 7th school (9th overall) at Athens. They made states in 2012 and got 21st, and missed states last year, but at this rate I would be surprised if they didn't get top 10 at PA states this year.
Of course, it remains to be seen what happens at regionals, but if you maintain this level of performance you should definitely contend for first.
