When our team won the Indiana C 2013 state tournament. We beat the two reigning Bloomington schools (Bloomington HS North & Bloomington HS South), with North finishing 2nd and South finishing 3rd . This year was the first year our school qualified for nationals. :D

EDIT: technically Whiting HS finished 3rd, two points ahead of Bloomington South; this was after they corrected a scoring issue, South was announced as 3rd at the awards ceremony

I pride other teams compared to mine.

PALO ALTO KICKED MIRA LOMA'S ASYMPTOTE in NorCal. Gotta love em and I hope they or another team repeats the performance this year.

mom (how else do I shorten that alias?), that's awesome to hear! You contributed a lot to the MM topic this season, so I know your team worked hard! Congrats.

Last time I checked, Palo Alto edged out Mira Loma by 1 point...93 to 94

Alumni, teammates, and even science teachers got excited when this happened. Sure, I don't think we're worthy to take pride in this, but it sure darn makes us happy that it is about time that there is change in the victor. I also cheered them on at the nationals awards ceremony--they even got a gold in forestry!
And to be honest, I never really liked Palo Alto until this year, but ha! They did it. They're our heroes--(I can only imagine what it is like to be in the region of Solon). (If you know what it is like to be on Bella/Franklin/Palo Alto in the earlier years)

I have to sympathize with Mira Loma, though...missing out on an awesome Nationals trip by one point...that's happened to me before.

2011. I competed in Div B, we were third, lost to second place by one point...

I understand. The 1 point victory has actually happened quite a few times, whether its forgetting to put names on a paper, actually putting the correct answers in the wrong blank, or the team making it to states two years ago over a team forgetting to wear safety goggles for mousetrap vehicle... But nothing I've been through is as extreme as not making it to nationals.

Now my team doesn't even make states--they lacked the enthusiasm and confidence as they are basically a new team with most of the old members graduated. I can tell that the following year will be a strong one, partly fired up by Palo Alto's victory... Before the next graduation wave comes.
P.S. We literally were forced to watch the movie "Miracle" at the start of the year to be placed on the team, and that's like the most Mira Loma propaganda you can get and what a coincidence.

Hmm.... Probably seeing my state walk at the Parade of States at Nats. :D
I made the design for the costume and our coach made the actual costume for us.
Regionals: Water Quality-1st Reach for the Stars-1st Sounds of Music-2nd Mission Possible-20th (><)
States- Water Quality-1st Reach for the Stars-2nd Mission Possible-2nd

I WAS THERE WHEN MIRA LOMA LOST!
I could feel the tension in the air, and this person beside me had her fingers crossed and got mad when Mira Loma lost to Palo Alto. I still remember it.

Heh, major upset I imagine.

I believe that when we lost to Stanley Clark that year I dropped an f-bomb REALLY loud and people at least 5-10 rows back heard me :?
