Assassination is a posting game started by Skystrider back in 2008. The game, of course, has changed quite a bit through the course of the years, but it has remained essentially the same.
Currently, the game works like this:
Assassinator: There is an unknown Assassinator who was picked by the winner of the last game. The goal of the assassinator is to kill as many people as possible and win the game. The Assassinator is often nicknamed the "sassy". That is what we're talking about when we say "sassy".
Officers:Then there are the officers, usually five of them, although some have deterred from this in the past. The goal of the officers is to stop the Assassinator from killing people and to find out who the Assassinator is. To do this, the officers have two special powers: the power to protect and the power to accuse.
Civilians: These are non-officers. Their purpose is to help the officers win against the Assassinator. They used to be forbidden to post, but nowadays, it's usually allowed.

Here is how the game works:
After someone wins the last game, the winner picks the next Assassinator. This is how a game starts. Each game has a different theme, and each sassy makes his or her own rules; however, they do follow a format. There are a set of rules that gets PM'ed to each new sassy, and they can make modifications. However, usually, the gist of the rules stays the same. Of course, there are exceptions to every rule, but whatever. This is the first step of the games: You MUST read the rules before participating.
The sassy must provide kill clues that point clearly to his or her next target. From these clues, the officers try to figure out the sassy's target and protect the person being targeted. For each kill clue, every officer has one protect. If the officers protect the target correctly, the sassy cannot kill the target, and the officer who protected correctly gets one more accusation, or chances to guess who the sassy is.
However, each time someone accuses the sassy wrongly, the number of kills the sassy needs so that they can win (usually 15) goes down by one. Therefore, accusations are not to be taken lightly.
The sassy must also occasionally provide identity clues that point to him or herself. From these clues, the officers can often guess who the sassy is. You can also deduce clues from other things that the sassy does, including posting times, online times, etc.
The game ends when either the sassy kills all fifteen people or when one of the officers accuses correctly. Then the winner picks the next sassy and then the next game starts.
