I think what "competitive" means in regard to Kansas is that it is competitive within itself, not compared to other states. That's certainly how I would consider the competition here...

Re: Will You Make It to Nationals?
That does appear to be the case, however the original quote / line of thought I was responding to was with regards to Kansas Div C not getting to send 2 teams to nationals anymore. The 'competitive' word was used in regards to that, which I (and I assume many others) inferred was essentially trying to say "hey, Kansas is competitive relative to the other States at Nationals, we should get our second berth back". I was simply providing data in response to that.FullMetalMaple wrote:I think what "competitive" means in regard to Kansas is that it is competitive within itself, not compared to other states. Re: Will You Make It to Nationals?
if what Z meant was FullMetalMaple's clarification, then I apologize, bc I misunderstood. >.<
and I would agree with FMM in that sense, especially since I'm no one to say that Kansas isn't competitive with in themselves- I wouldn't know.
sorry if my mistake may have offended or ruffled anyone's feathers. :/

No matter what the experiment's result, there will always be someone eager to:(a) misinterpret it(b) fake it, or (c) believe it supports his own pet theory.

Re: Will You Make It to Nationals?
Yeah, as a general rule of thumb from now on, when I say "competitive" I usually mean within the state. It's obvious we're not to the level of teams from the upper midwest, though that's not to say given some time and consistency we won't be able to. In this way Kansas is much more competitive than states such as Ohio, because so many teams have gotten opportunities to go, and if you change one variable our state results would probably turn upside down.
I would like the second team back, but even so competitiveness doesn't determine the number of teams you send, it's size. North Dakota C is a prime example.

Re: Will You Make It to Nationals?
Last year was just crazy.
Nationals in both divisions won by the same school system.
As the old English used to say:
"God's teeth!"
Anybody got another good synonym for omg?

Unless...the people on our team start actually taking initiative? I know I'm forcing my MP partner to actually work on some designs.
