Also, I started a wiki page for the macroorganisms that needs a lot of work to be completed, so any help would be much appreciated

The salinometer should be calibrated to difference NaCl solutions so I don't think you would get anything besides an NaCl solution.3nv1r0nm3ntal ch3m wrote:Hopefully just NaCl. If there was other stuff mixed in, it could get really tricky and quite difficult to test. I'm not sure though.

I think it should be changed to a table with the organisms on the left, and different columns on the right pertaining to things such as description, reproduction, and food.3nv1r0nm3ntal ch3m wrote:Also, I started a wiki page for the macroorganisms that needs a lot of work to be completed, so any help would be much appreciated

For the macroorganisms, there is a section on the EPA website with information about each organism.

You can search around that page to find the organisms, or you can just google search "EPA (name of organism)" and it should be the first search result.

Re: Water Quality B/C
So I don't know what the rules mean by Aquatic Ecology. For example if one was to wikipedia that: Wikipedia gets confused and gives you a category
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Aquatic_ecology
Does anyone know what type of Aquatic ecology the rules are talking about specifically? In The Competition portion of the rules it says something about "Lakes ponds and rivers" - so does it mean Freshwater ecology?
Thanks!

Re: Water Quality B/C
Most likely it will ask about aquatic ecosystems and stuff like that. Littoral, Limnetic, and benthic sections of a lake. I'm not sure how broad it might be and do you know what it means by "aquatic chemistry"?sparky007 wrote:So I don't know what the rules mean by Aquatic Ecology. This is way outside my knowledge base, but perhaps this will help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siltation
