How are the tests usually set up? I haven't seen this event since div. b, and I am likely to get it, since I did fossils.

The norm is stations for Rocks and Minerals

Yeah I've seen specimens at all the events I've done. And I have seen gold at one of them!

Do they usually provide streak plates at every station?

Yes, I'm pretty sure that if a streak plate or some sort of hardness indicator (penny, glass plate) is necessary at a station, the event supervisor will provide them. I don't think they were on the list of allowed resources the last time Rocks was an event.

Do they provide indicator minerals from the mohs scale?
100% of deaths are somehow caused by science.
Don't be a statistic.
Don't do science.

Depends. Event writers can choose to make a station where you have to determine the hardness, but instead of a scratch plate, you only get Mohs' Scale specimens. They won't provide the minerals AND a glass though, that's redundant.

I have no idea, but my general guess would be no, as the lists change a bit.

EDIT: As far as guidebooks, I have a nice DK one that is sorted bhy color for minerals and rock type for rocka (igneous, metamorphic, sedimentary.) also has a key for identifying rocks, and info on specific gravity, luster, chemical formulas for minerals, and Moh's scale.
What's the name of the guidebook that you have?
I t just says ROCKS & MINERALS on the top. I guess that's the title.
