Hippios and Promachos were two figures from Greek mythology -- better known as the gods Poseidon and Athena. (According to this site, Poseidon Hippios means "Poseidon, creator of horses" and Athena Promachos means "Athena, joiner of battle".) There is a famous legend about a "contest of power" between the two over Athens:
Wikipedia wrote: Both Athena and Poseidon requested to be patrons of the city and to give their name to it, so they competed with one another for the honor, offering the city one gift each. Poseidon produced a salt water spring by striking the ground with his trident, symbolizing naval power. Athena created the olive tree, symbolizing peace and prosperity. The Athenians, under their ruler Cecrops, accepted the olive tree and named the city after Athena.
Olive trees can live for over 1000 years ("a gift eternally growing"), they produce...guess what?...olives ("the fruit of labor"), and there are 6 species of olive trees ("a staple of species six").

The only problem: who does this refer to?

Kind of a stretch here, but I protect Epic Fail Olympian, because of Alpha Tauri's reasons (Athena and Poseidon are both Olympians).

The Athena+Poseidon theory fits perfectly.

This probably does refer to Athena and Poseidon's battle over Athens. I wish I had seen this before, but oh well. It's probably EFO, but I can't protect him anymore. *headdesk* Anyway, I'll protect AlphaTauri, because Taurus is a constellation associated with Greek mythology (Zeus sends the bull out for Europa, yada yada yada). Yes, it's a stretch. A very big stretch.

It could possibly refer to me. My name, Olivia, it means olive, which derives from the latin word Oliva (olive tree). This might be a connection, but it's a really really really long stretch. But just to let you know.

So I was reading through the event threads, and noticed that smartkid222's avatar looks like it has something to do with Greece...and I think he's mentioned that he's Greek as well.

Can someone protect him?

Alphatauri, you have successfully saved trajectoryrox, to whom the clue referred, for reasons the officers clearly pointed out. The contest of gods, to be the patron of the newly founded Athens, held between Athena and Poseidon resulted in the gift of Olives to the Athenians. Olives were supposed to be connected to appelation, indicating someone's name. Trajectoryrox's name is Olivia, therefore the logical conclusion.

Alphatauri now has 3 accusations, the rest of you have one. Alphatauri chooses the recipient of the extra accusation. Your new clue will be up shortly.
