Wouldn't a higher mass of rubber have higher elastic potential energy - i thought it was a direct relationship, with higher masses yielding higher flight times.

Edit: I just realized that the lower mass rubber would result in lower overall mass for the heli, is this what you guys are referring to?

Care to discuss why it might be any different for heli than wright stuff? Keep in mind i am new to free flight so this is just my inexperienced opinion, as a result of a simple formula which probably doesn't always apply to real world situations.

the rubber makes up a higher portion of the total mass.

How does thickness in rubber affect flight times - i feel like it shouldn't matter because u can get more winds on thinner rubber.

It's even more than that: 2:4=1:2 for heli and 1.5:7=3:14 for WS.

It's even more than that: 2/4 for heli=50% and 1.5/7=3/14 for WS.
Actually, wouldn't it be 2/6 for heli=33% and 1.5/8.5=17.6%

On average, how many winds should I be able to put into 1/8 inch rubber? a double-looped 3/32 inch?

Okay, i've been getting around 900 on 1/8. My helicopter seems to work best on 3/16 inch, even though i'm only able to put in 600 turns it lasts for 1:10

So we've tried 1/8 and .90 - we usually get 1400 winds on the .9 and 900 on 1/8 - 1:26 for the 1/8, 1:33 for .9.
