When I first started to work with my partner we started by just doing the things by ourselves. The do-er had a highlighter with him so that when he came across a confusing part then he could high-light it. We would then talk about it together once the do-er was finished. This strategy was very helpful.
Science, yeah!

Made a new team. 7th place at NH states. Officially the champions of Vermont.

2015-2016 Events:
Air Trajectory, It's About Time, EXPD, and WIDI.

So how does this event really relate to science?

It's a way for non-sciency people to get medals.

Scientists have to be able to clearly communicate their procedures so others can try to replicate their results. As much as this event seems easy, it does have a place. Too often you have scientists whose heads are in the clouds. They can think big thoughts but not share them with anyone, so what good does that do them? That's the idea behind this event, clearly communicating a procedure to someone else, even if it isn't your procedure.

...and, yeah, people can walk in blindly and medal. Pentathlon was better than this.

That makes sense, so is it more productive to have this as an event, or an event on an actual science topic?

What I'm saying is that it IS on an actual science topic: the process of science. Science isn't what you study but how you study it. It's a common misconception because when we think "science" we think animals, space, and chemicals. That's because you use the scientific method to study those things more than anything else. Science in of itself IS a topic, if that makes sense. I'm not saying this is a great event, but I can make a case for it. I'd swap it out for Pentathlon B/C (imagine that) any day.

On this we were taught the scientific method since elementary school, and everyone should be just about as good at completing it, especially if u can walk in blindly and medal.
