Satellite imaging and UTM won't be as big of a part, I'd assume imaging is just the basics, so check maybe the Remote Sensing Wiki for info on that.

For UTM, here's a good link: http://www.maptools.com/UsingUTM/

Don't worry too much about these, like robotman said, just check the wiki.
Thanks. I have a question. For depression contours, if there are "regular" lines outside, say the outside value is 80, and there are a bunch of depression contours inside those "regular" lines. Do the values decrease or increase towards the depression?

Well, if it's a depression, they would decrease.

Even when outside it was decreasing too? Whew, I drew my profile "right" then.

I took a few tests recently, and there are a lot of concepts I can't understand.
1. How do you find a historical trail on an AAA map?
As in the Oregon trail.
2. What's a Principal divided road? Is that a thick red line that's separated into two?
What's a Principal undivided road?
3. How is a County Courthouse represented?
What about a County Seat?
4. What's an Interchange on a highway?
5. Where is the travel time chart on a highway map?
I can only see a mileage chart.
6. Where is an airport runway on a topographical map?
What does it look like?
7. How do you find the change in water elevation of the water above the dam versus the water below it?
8. How do you know what railroad company uses which railroad?
9. What's a third order USGS benchmark?
10. Do highway maps have latitude/longitude markings?
11. How do you draw pasture, and farmland? It's not on the symbol sheet from USGS

Thank you

Many of the topo questions can be found on the symbol sheet. Check twice, sometimes they're hard to find. Ask someone else about the highway, I don't know those. #6- "Where" is different on every map. #7 sounds like stream gradient. Check the Road Scholar Wiki on that, I don't know it off the top of my head.

Quick question - If a depression occurs between two contour lines labeled '80 feet' and '100 feet', with 20 feet being the contour interval, what would the elevation of the depression be? :?

It depends how many contour lines there are in the depression.
