I have always gotten my battery holders and other stuff from radio shack.
Motor limits would generally be the most amount of voltage you can provide so it would be a motor that could be powered by 6ish volts

Hey, I'm competing for Battery Buggy B. Out of question, would it be safer to keep the buggy's width smaller or make its width larger?
If it's smaller, it would easily leave the line it is on, which wouldn't be good. However, it would probably have a less chance of falling apart.
If it's larger, it's probably going to have a harder time staying together.
Should I make my buggy 6"x12" or 7"x12"?
Also, do any of you have any idea of how to break the buggy other then a wingnut? (and not prayer, please) Also, how to regulate how far the buggy goes? I'm new to this event.

The battery is mandatory. As for the motor, I don't see another possibility. (solar powered vehicles! )You're going to have to stick with the standard issue, with a motor, a switch, and a battery box.

the best way is too mix the wingnut brake with a micro switch.
size is really a personal preference

for regulating how far is determined by how many winds the wingnut brake has which is due to the circumference of you wheels

I think that should be fine. It works pretty well too, we used that at regionals last year.

yes you can make a buggy turn. make one side of the buggy's wheels smaller than the others. you will have to experiment for a good ratio, but be sure to add treads.

as i said earlier, make each side of the buggy's wheels different sizes depending on which way you want it to turn

It'd probably be easier to have a tilt on the axis. You'd need so many wheels to pull that off and it may make the device unstable.

actually, no. you can try it yourself, as that is what my team is doing, and has worked quite well. and, you only need the standard 4 wheels
