SoCal Regionals in Question?

Post by SentientJello »

At this point, I think that the SoCal Regional tournaments that haven't taken place yet (Inland Empire & the 2nd San Diego Regionals) are increasingly likely to be canceled as well.

Have a small tournament with only the top 5 contenders.

I'm only partly kidding.

I believe that there are potential alternatives in the works, but don't get your hopes up yet. Bear will have more information than me and will post if there are any new developments.

I think Nationals will be canceled as well, so unless we have a make-up season at the beginning of next season, such a tournament would be unlikely.

with the recent developments and the unknown possibilities of when the outbreak will end, how should competitors proceed? I have chosen to keep working on my building by working on other projects related to scioly but not directly an event while others ik are already working on designs for next year while other continue to work on this years events. What is everyone else doing?

I'm not stopping working on my events until an official declaration comes out saying that Nats won't be held or Florida's state tournament is cancelled with no way to Nats. If I were a SoCal competitor with a small chance of winning the state tournament in the first place, though, I'd consider just starting on next year's. Like I said earlier, rescheduling an entire state tournament in such a short period seems pretty unlikely, especially when the cases are still developing in California and throughout the US. No harm done though in continuing to work on this year's events.
happy new season!
