California is treated as one state for the purposes of determining bids. They are only split up into two states for the actual regionals/state tournament because of the travel distances. Regardless of how many teams attend nationals, California will only receive 2 bids under the current system. It’s a broken system but it is what it is.jaggie34 wrote:California is basically split into two states, though, so if more bids were added they could just act as if they were individual states and provide either with an extra bid dependent on the number of teams.Riptide wrote:Even if it expands to 65, California will not receive any more bids until every state has 2 teams unless soinc changes their stance on the national bid system.TheSquaad wrote:
Perhaps nationals will expand to 65 teams in future years to give people in competitive states more opportunities to make nats (Each half of cal and Texas come to mind)

Move this discussion to another thread. Not meaning to be insensitive, just that this conversation comes up so much and there's plenty of other threads for this. That said, if you're going to start this argument please try to keep it chill as usually it gets out of hand...hopefully that much is fair enough.

Re: NorCal 2019
The official State results have now been posted:
Div B
Div C
I don't follow Div B too closely, but have noticed that Thornton Junior High has been on the rise lately (they got 4th at State last year). Does anyone know if their students feed into a particular high school?
